Restoration & Drywall

Playhouse Restoration

Project description

Water had been getting in at the base of the walls for long enough to rot the framing and grow black mold behind the finishes. The fix was to open everything up, remove the damage, and rebuild from the framing out.

Because JOAT handles the structural and the finish work with the same crew, the customer had one point of contact from demo through the last coat of paint.

The challenge in a small space

A playhouse has no room to work around damage. The rotted framing at the floor and corners had to come out cleanly without disturbing the parts of the structure that were still sound.

Mold removal came before any rebuilding, so the new material went in against a clean, dry structure.

Nephi serviced our playhouse structure, removing black mold, replacing framing, and more. His workspace was clean and organized.

The finished interior

New framing where it was needed, fresh drywall taped and textured, trim replaced, and the whole interior painted out. Dry, clean, and back in use.
